As the title says, I've been the ultimate flake and haven't posted here in, what, 4 months? I can't believe it's been that long. I promise, if anyone actually reads, and maybe I'm just talking to myself here, REGULAR updates now! i mean it this time. I have a ton of updates to write now. Been to plenty of concerts lately so I'll post my thoughts of each one.

New Paramore songs!!!

Unless you live under a rock a thousand light years from Earth, you know that Paramore is releasing their new album sometime in September(birthday present for me!). They've been playing two new songs during their set on No Doubts' tour. Here are a couple of videos along with lyrics so you can sing a long when you go to your tour date.

The Kills @ The Fillmore

So, I know I haven't posted in quite a while but expect regular updates from now on.

Back to the matter at hand now.

On May 19 The Kills finally came here to the SF bay area. This was my first time going to the Fillmore as well as my first time seeing The Kills live. Needless to say, I was excited. I was able to go inside the Fillmore a bit earlier than everyone else as I was there courtesy of The Syndicate and was supposed to put up some Kills tour posters for everyone to see. Things didn't go to plan however as the Fillmore staff wouldn't let me put up the posters. Something to do with them being afraid of the tape messing up the really old walls. So, I went outside and decided to hand out the posters to the first 15 people in line. Worked out for them I suppose.

So, we go in when the doors open and I get a spot pretty much next to the stage. +1 point for the Fillmore not having barriers and letting you be right next to the stage. Makes everything very intimate. The opening band, The Magic Wands, was surprisingly decent. A couple of catchy songs and the lead singer is kind of hot.

Then came The Horrors. Quite a few more people had filed in by now. Not really my type of music. Also, you couldn't really hear the lead singer. The most interesting part of the set was when the lead singer threw the mic into the crowd and broke some girls' glasses.

And now for the headliners. The Kills came out to a huge ovation from the crowd. Damn is Allison Mosshart sexy. They opened their set with U.R.A. Fever and did they ever do justice to all their songs. Amazing set. Highlights were Sour Cherry, Hince on guitar on pretty damn near every song and Mosshart dancing on top of a big speaker during Cheap And Cheerful. The Kills definitely deliver live.

I went to my local music store today. No, it isn't Best Buy, Wal-Mart etc. It is a small chain store here in California called Rasputin Music. I am always amazed how few people know about this place. Good prices, huge selection and very knowledgeable workers. If anybody is reading this, please support your local music stores!

Paramore Livejournal Updates

Since I'm a huge fan of Paramore I'll be posting some of their livejournal posts from time to time. This one is actually really interesting:

"helloooo dear friends

welp! we're a week into tracking this record. tonight we finished the 4th song and zac tracked drums to the 5th... so things are moving really quickly. we're actually doing a song at a time, which we've never done before. i really like how it's coming together. it's nice to be able to start a song and focus on it all the way through until it's complete. or at least 95%.

without making this into some kind of unofficial press release... i'm so excited about the songs we have. i can't wait to tour with them... for you guys to hear. i was really nervous for a long time about what songs we'd write and how we'd come across this time around... but now listening back to what we've gotten done, my worries are gone. it feels great to really love what we're doing.

brandon (the genius behind the "fourth meal" videos) is coming back out this week. he'll be filming all kinda stuff and eventually posting things for you guys and specifically for fan club members. brandon rules, doesn't he?! i'm stoked for him to hang with us. what a salty fellow.

oh my goodness, i'm so tired. i can't keep my eyes open. i better get some sleep.
